Spiritual Living With Francois Fineberg

Even as Christ was the reality of God, the Holy Spirit is the reality of Christ. Through the Holy Spirit's ministry, God in Christ should be an experiential reality to the spiritual man. Partnering with the Holy Spirit enhances God's existence; disobeying the Holy Spirit frustrates that same reality.

In this message, Francois discusses 8 potential hindrances to the Holy Spirit’s influence in the believer’s life. They are ignorance, unbelief, the natural man, rebellion, ongoing sin, woundings, showmanship, and blasphemy.

The Holy Spirit is pictured as a dove in the gospel narratives. Like a dove has two wings for the ability to fly, the Holy Spirit has two dynamics He facilitates into a believer's life for him to live the spiritual life. One dynamic cannot be stressed at the other's neglect, for both comprise the Holy Spirit's baptism in the New Testament.

It is naive to live the Christian life as if there is no Holy Spirit. There are two fundamental reasons for this prevailing mindset. Francois shares those two views in this message and adds several practical applications that mark a life under the Holy Spirit's reality.

There is a spectacular element to the Holy Spirit that cannot be denied. Many of us often deny the personal and renewing aspect of the same Holy Spirit. We fixate less on His work within us and more on His manifestations about us. God desires to work within us to such an extent that with one voice in the Holy Spirit, we cry out, “Come Lord Jesus.” Jesus cannot come from our lips if He is not first formed into our being by the renewing Spirit of God.

The Holy Spirit does a progressive work within the believer that is prophetically pictured in Genesis 1. The Spirit broods over the chaotic earth to accomplish six “works” for God’s purposes. Those six “accomplishments” are relevant within every believer who walks in the Holy Spirit today.

The book of Acts almost presents itself as two separate books. The first part has a lot of Holy Spirit activity in it; the latter doesn’t. The first part is very supernatural and spectacular; the second part is bland and ordinary. What are we to make of these polarizing portions of the Acts of the Apostles? The answer may surprise you.

If a “picture speaks a thousand words,” then a thousand pictures are needed to describe the Holy Spirit. In this message, seven realistic depictions of the Holy Spirit are highlighted with their practical application in the believer’s life.

When all four Gospels reiterate that Christ will "baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire," an essential aspect of Jesus' ministry is emphasized. You cannot ignore this prophetic utterance regarding Christ's ministry made by His cousin! Unless you are open to Jesus' Spirit-ministry, you will not be ushered into His kingdom's realities. You cannot live the spiritual life apart from this particular ministry of Christ.

In this intense message, Francois shares the difference between the Spirit of God and the flesh of man; their opposing origins and culminating fruit, from Genesis to Revelation. He makes a strong appeal to surrender to the Holy Spirit for the out-living of the normal Christian life according to God’s New Testament economy.
