Splat Attack Podcast

Back in the cold winter of 1995, a class from PS 124 in New York sought out to make a short for Nickelodeon. That short ended up being one of the most famous or is it one of the most notorious? What was intended to be a comical tale for SNICK SNACK ended up being nightmare fuel for many. The question is, what happened? Where did this idea come from? How did this get made? Now we know. Joining us in the studio are one of the creators Jessica (Liu) Chan and the child director Nina Mui. They share with us their journey from school project to 90s Nick fame as we discuss the making of "Attack of the Giant Vulture."

Nickelodeon has featured a lot of celebrities in their day. Quick cameos that were featured in a lot of the live action programming like All That or Are You Afraid of the Dark. Some the audience didn't even know had some of our favorite actors in it like Hey Dude and Angry Beavers. While others they took center stage to talk directly to us 90s kids such as on Nick News or the Kids' Choice Awards. The list of celebrities that decided to join the first kids' network is astounding! Join the splat crew in the studio as they try to recount as many as possible the "Celebrity Cameos On Nickelodeon."

Looking into the Nicktoons' library there are two characters that stand out as some of the most iconic antagonists. Or if one were so inclined, bully might be a more accurate term. But are they really bullies or are they misunderstood? That's exactly what we aim to discover as we have a character study on Angelica Pickles and Helga Pataki. Join us in the studio for this season 9 premiere. Now behave or you might have to answer to Old Betsy.

Sometimes a tale is so frightening, so petrifying, so heart stopping that it must become hidden from the public eye. Perhaps this is why the higher ups at Nickelodeon and Paramount have attempted to hide it from us fans. But we have discovered that very story and we are ready to share it with the world. For this episode we are looking at the three part series from Are You Afraid of the Dark?, "The Tale of the Silver Sight." We interview co-creator D.J. MacHale as we uncover the mystery of what makes the Midnight Society's story so special and why seasons 6 and 7 are overlooked by fans. Join us in the studio, have a seat around the campfire, and let the tale begin!
