Here’s the June 2010 installment of Psilicon Dreams, my monthly mix of psychedelic downtempo electronica for DI.FM’s Psychill channel. For this month, I’ve assembled a solid set of psybient masterpieces. Highlights include a brand new cut from Phutureprimitive, a forgotten favorite from Infected Mushroom (that happens to mix perfectly with said Phutureprimitive track), and one of Ott’s best to end the set on a high note.

Like what you hear? Let me know! And don’t forget you can grab all off the past Psilicon Dreams mixes from my downloads page. You can also subscribe to the Splendid Beats Podcast and never miss another splendid download!

Tune in every second Saturday at 9am US PST/12pm US EST/5pm UK/18:00 Central Europe to catch the newest episode.

This set was recorded live in the in Chillography Downtempo Dinosaur room at Kinetic 4 at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, WA on April 3, 2010. John and I performed under the short-lived name of “A Delicate Moment”, which was quickly killed for being at bit too precious of a name. Band names are hard! Beats and textures by me, Leave Trace, and cello by John Ames.

And here’s some video of the performance:

Here’s the April 2010 installment of Psilicon Dreams, my monthly mix of psychedelic downtempo electronica for DI.FM’s Psychill channel. For this mix, I spelunked the bassier depths of psychill and finished it off with a couple lovely beatless tracks to help send you off peacefully in to dreamland.

Here’s the March 2010 installment of Psilicon Dreams, my monthly mix of psychedelic downtempo electronica for DI.FM’s Psychill channel. For this mix, I crossed all sorts of genre borders and included psybient, IDM, dubstep, downtempo, psydub, glitch, and a dash of ambient and sloa goa. I’m rather fond of this mix as it feels cohesive, yet covers so much psychill ground.

What do you think? Leave a comment with your thoughts on this amount of genre blending in one set.

Here’s the February 2010 installment of Psilicon Dreams, my monthly mix of psychedelic downtempo electronica for DI.FM’s Psychill channel. For this mix, I dove into my much neglected vinyl collection and pulled out some of my favorite chillout tracks from the mid-to-late ’90s. Much of what we now hear coming out of the psychill scene was directly influenced from these records. And to top it off, I whipped up a little Mark Neal inspired retrodelic cover art. Tune in every second Saturday at 9am US PST/12pm US EST/5pm UK/18:00 Central Europe to catch the newest episode. Chillout like it’s 1999 and enjoy!
