Sheryl Lee at Mongabay is one of the newest people to pop into our Telegram chat, and because we're always interested in our community and how they made their way to journalism, we asked her to talk about her career.
Sheryl is new to journalism; she graduated a year ago -- not in journalism, but in accounting and business. We talked about how to support new journalists finding their way through media.

We’re speaking with Priya Thuvassery from Chambal Media in India about their new training academy for women journalists in rural communities. It’s inspiring. They plan to train 270 women over the next three months across three states in India. The objective is to "go beyond the technical aspects of reporting and encourage students to recognize and understand gender, caste and patriarchy in our society, and how it affects the mainstream media narrative."
