Earlier this week, the Trump administration announced a peace plan for the Middle East. What does this really mean for Israel and Palestine? For the first part of today’s show, Palestinian journalist and peace activist Ahmed Abu Artema and Jennifer Loewenstein, longtime observer of the Middle East, offer responses.
In the second segment, investigative reporter Arun Gupta gives updates from the U.S.–Mexico border, where tens of thousands of asylum-seekers have been turned away over the past year since the rollout of the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols.
Ahmed Abu Artema is a Palestinian journalist and peace activist. He is the author of the book Organized Chaos and one of the founders of the Great March of Return. He is a refugee from Al Ramla village in Palestine.
Jennifer Loewenstein is a political activist and freelance journalist who has written extensively on the Middle East. She is founder of the Madison-Rafah Sister City Project and currently works as a researcher for The Independent.
Arun Gupta is an investigative reporter whose work has been published by The Daily Beast, The Washington Post, The Intercept, and many other publications.
