From insisting on “Merry Christmas” to determining the moral issues of our society, Christians enjoy immense privilege in the United States. That’s the subject of Khyati Y. Joshi’s new book, White Christian Privilege. She join us for a discussion of religious equality in the first half of today’s show.

Then, Karl Grossman says we’re at a turning point when it comes to space warfare. In the second segment, he talks about the military, space debris and the future of space exploration, and the costs of turning space into a warzone.

Khyati Y. Joshi is professor of education at Farleigh Dickinson University and co-founder of the Institute for Teaching Diversity and Social Justice. She is author and co-editor of Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice 3rd edition (Routledge, 2015) and co-editor of Envisioning Religion, Race, and Asian Americans (University of Hawaii Press, 2020). Her most recent book is White Christian Privilege: The Illusion of Religious Equality in America (NYU Press, 2020).

Karl Grossman is an investigative reporter and professor of journalism at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury. He is the author of six books, including The Wrong Stuff: The Space Program’s Nuclear Threat to Our Planet (Common Courage Press, 1997) and Weapons in Space (Seven Stories Press, 2001).
