Dozens of Sioux City girls took part in a Winter Showcase that also gave back to the community. Members of Girls. Inc. took to the stage to sing they also handed out check to a few local charity groups, including the Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House and Support Siouxland Soldiers. An election watchdog is filing a complaint alleging than an outside group founded by top political aides to Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst violated campaign finance law in its efforts improve the Republican's chance of reelection next year. It comes after The Associated Press reported earlier this month that Ernst's work with the political nonprofit Iowa Values to raise money and build an electoral “firewall" potentially violated campaign finance and tax law. The Morningside College Football team is looking to repeat as national champions. Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer was there as the team left for Louisiana on the morning of December 17, 2019. Dozens lined Peters Avenue running through the heart of Morningside College. A warm send-off in cool conditions for a successful football program. This afternoon, the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors will vote on building authority for a new jail and law enforcement center. Yesterday, the Sioux City Council unanimously voted to support the authority. It would oversee the $49 million dollar project. The public would still need to approve the new facility. The Sioux City Police Department is investigating a homicide from over the weekend. A Sioux City man died in a shooting near the city's downtown on Saturday night. Detectives say 42-year-old Chad A.
