We start off this episode in the aftermath of the attack of The Beast, and it's a pretty effective sequence. There's a lot of guilt going around amongst the students that participated in the ritual that "allowed" in this creature...only I don't think it's really their fault at all.
Meanwhile, Julia is getting more and more attached to this shady group of hedge magicians, and gets a damn tattoo even though she knows nothing about who they really are or what they really want. C'mon, girl.

Hey there! It's time to get into the next chapters of The Wall Of Storms and we're getting a slow introduction to a new character that I suspect we're going to be seeing a lot more of.

This episode was really interesting, and leads to me theorizing wildly about what some of the rules and ethics of time traveling in this specific fashion might be. Taking over a body that was about to die is a really specific and unusual kind of travel, and raises all sorts of questions about the future.

This episode was a real up and down experience for me. There were parts of it I absolutely loved (scary moth man, anyone?) but then there were some issues that I had a really hard time with, like the mental health plot points and the use of sexual assault threats to provoke magic.
All in all, I'm interested and they have my attention, but I'm side-eyeing some portions and hoping they will get a little smarter with it as time goes on!

I really like all the character stuff that I get to see when the characters are just conversing together. It's a mix of seeing the way the decide to interact with one another, and my enjoyment of the way Leigh Bardugo writes their dialogue. There's something about it that feels really cinematic and surprisingly funny, and I want to hang out with these people and get a beer and watch them bicker.

It's been a long time since anything has engaged and surprised me the way this show has, and I'm not going to rest until everyone I love has watched this so that I can gush about it with them.
I'm so glad I've started rewatching the show with someone else who's unspoiled, because it makes this ending feel a little less final.

At first things seem pretty straight-forward; our crew is meeting up with Van Eck to orchestrate the trade of his pregnant wife for Inej. Kaz is certain that the wily mercher is going to double-cross them, and he's ready, with a wild plan that includes nearly one hundred people in identical costumes riling up the crowd as a distraction.
But then, a third player descends in quite spectacular fashion, and it's the same folk we've encountered in a previous chapter; what appear to be Grisha with physical alterations or at the very least high-tech equipment. They're doing a wild smash-and-grab, and they're after Nina...but she's not here to play.
