  • The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Everyone say thank you to Anonymous for commissioning me and RoShawn to cover The Perks Of Being A Wallflower as a power couple! If you weren't able to make our Crowdcast, that's a shame because it was a lot of fun (and not everything in a Crowdcast makes it into the final episode) but it's still available to watch if you want. https://www.crowdcast.io/e/spoil-me-perks-of-being
This movie was lovely and angsty and heart wrenching and really fun. I liked it a lot more than I expected to. However, I think the person it really spoke to was RoShawn. She recognized a lot of the music and a lot of the scene, and she just connected really hard with everything in a way that felt very specific.
I want to thank Anonymous for their commission and for their patience, because it took so long for RoShawn and I to find the time in our schedules to fit this in. I hope that person feels it was worth it in the end! Thank you again!

  • Veronica Mars S01E16- Betty & Veronica
Hey there delightful listeners, and welcome to the next episode of Veronica Mars in which we get to see some of the aftermath of Veronica going to see her mother.
Now, I'm not entirely sure whether there's something going on that I'm not supposed to know as a viewer yet, but I am having a really hard time understanding how Veronica was able to sit with her mom and get this whole sordid tale out of her, and how she was able to take her mother to rehab, if there's a mysterious shadowy entity watching and threatening her. We saw a dude leave, glaring at Veronica. Was that nothing? Was it just simple paranoia that made Veronica so sure he was involved?
Then there's the whole other thing with the mascot getting stolen. I actually found this subplot to be pretty entertaining, and that prank with the goat meat was fucked up and yet pretty brilliant.
Thanks so much for listening, and thanks to Renee for commissioning this episode!

  • The Novice- Episode 5
Hello everyone! Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning so much of this book, and I'm getting really into the storyline now. I'm getting so mad at the teachers for either falling for the shit Regin is putting out there about Sonea, or for turning a blind eye. I'm not sure just how complicit they are but I'm tempted to quantify it at "very".
Dannyl, meanwhile, is out here standing up to some pirates who try and move on his ship, and I really understand his reasoning behind not killing them, but I still want to see some magic! He could have put some real fear into them, and I think it would be super satisfying.
I'm really enjoying this book, and I am dying to see if Regin gets his at any point because even him teaming up against her with a bunch of other students, in the woods, and aggressively attacking her is apparently not enough for them to do much of anything.
    Thanks for listening, everyone!

  • Six Of Crows- Episode 8
Thank you to Jill for commissioning this episode of Six Of Crows! We're getting deep into the heist now, and predictably, shit is going very wrong. But the ways in which shit is going wrong are not predictable at all.
Here is the final reveal of why Kaz holds the grudge he does, and I know that Pekka's men were on pikes outside but for some reason I didn't think that Pekka himself was going to be in the fucking prison. I have no idea what Kaz is going to do, but i'm hopeful that Nina will get to him in time that he gets the idea to frame Pekka for the death of the guard.
Because, spoiler alert, Nina is wandering around on her own and kills a guard because she gets so flustered after discovering a torture champer (or something) for Grisha that she loses track of where she is. Meanwhile, Inej is trying to climb the inside of a red hot chimney with a bunch of live coals waiting for her at the bottom, and her shoes are melting off.
Oh yeah, and Jesper is gay and flirting shamelessly with Wylan, and it's hilarious.
    Thanks for listening!

  • The Fifth Season- Episode 3
Thank you to Ashlynn for commissioning this book, which is absolutely ripping my heart out.
There is so much to cover in these chapters that I went over time just a tad, but damn there is a lot happening! The second-person perspective has "us" sitting with what is undoubtedly the Stone Boy and realizing a little belatedly that there's something weird about the kid. So far that's as far as it's gone but it's only a matter of time until "we" touch him, or catch him eating rocks, anI'm very curious about what happens then.
Meanwhile, we're still traveling with Syenite and Alabaster, and it turns out that poor Syenite has no idea about the world she's living in. She doesn't know, and I'm not sure that after she's learned the truth she's particularly glad to know it. Girl, I can relate. The situation they run across at the Node is one of the most horrific things I have ever read in anything, and it's going to haunt me forever. I tried to explain to Owen and almost started crying just describing the scene.
So yeah, this book is really good and you all should read it. Get on that. https://amzn.to/2UefSAp

  • The Novice- Episode 4 (Chapters 11, 12, & 13)
Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! These chapters are full of goodies and more little germs for theories regarding what's going on with the High Lord.
So let's talk about Regin and what a little devious genius he is when it comes to doing shit to fuck with poor Sonea. He plants a stolen pen in her "backpack" and frames her for theft, which effectively shuts down any support that Sonea had among the instructors. I hate this guy so much.
Meanwhile, Dannyl is trying to turn up some information on what Akkarin was up to when he visited a certain temple, but it doesn't seem like he turns anything up. Or does he? Or perhaps I'm being paranoid.
Thanks for listening, everyone! I will be seeing you soon with a new episode!

  • Veronica Mars S01E15- Ruskie Business
Hey there lovely listeners! Many thanks to Charissa for commissioning this episode, which turned out to be kind of a weird one.
I'm very interested in hearing your opinions on this, folks, because my primary gripe this episode is that Veronica is acting way out of character to further the plot and it just feels kind of cheap to me. She's this amazing investigator until we need Duncan's identity to be a surprise and then suddenly she doesn't even think to ask for the phone number when someone wants an ID on who sent a text:? C;mon.
I did like the Russian subplot though, if only because I get to see Keith Mars being kind of a badass again, and I just don't get tired of that.
Thanks for listening, and see you soon with a new episode!

  • Deep Wizardry- Episode 2
Guys! There are whale wizards and wizards becoming whales!
This was a really wild section, and I am once again taken aback by Diane Duane's incredible imagination. I love that there's still so many ways to surprise me.
In this section, our lovely friends transform into whales, via two different methods. Kit uses something called a whalesark which holds the memories of a previous whale who died, while Nita uses her magic and taps into her inner...whale? They travel all day, although it doesn't seem nearly that long to them while they're in whale form, and visit an ancient whale living near Sandy Hook to commit to singing their parts in the upcoming spell.
I really enjoy all of the wild magic in these books. Thank you so much to Devin for commissioning this!

  • Veronica Mars, S01E14- Mars VS Mars
Before I launch into talking about how damn uncomfortable this episode was to watch, I want to thank Nancy for commissioning this episode. I have a live-watch of the next episode scheduled on Facebook, which you should be able to find in events or in videos if you miss it, and I'm very curious what that's going to be about.
    Okay. So this episode. YIKES.
This shit is way too timely. I cannot tell you how much I wanted to slap and shake Veronica throughout, and also wanted to high-five her dad because he's frankly the best, amirite?
Also, turns out the dude on death row for the murder of her friend is dying anyway, so he's a patsy that agreed to take the rap for some reason, probably a payout for his family or something like that.
There's a lot happening this episode, y'all! I hope you enjoy it, and I will see you next week!

  • The Novice- Episode 3, Chapters 7, 8, 9, & 10
Many thanks to Ashleigh for keeping me chugging steadily along on these Black Magician books with all her commissions! Please follow this link to grab the book if you'd like to read along. https://amzn.to/2DLR8u6
This section is when the bullying of Sonea takes a turn that I never saw coming, but I fucking should have! Regin begins to spread the rumor that there is something sexual going on between her and Lord Rothen, and that catches like wildfire until even Rothen's colleagues begin to treat him differently.
Oh, also, there's an AMAZING sequences where Dannyl's ship almost gets taken over by sea eel things and it's THE CREEPIEST.

I can't wait to read more for next week!
