The final book in the series! WOOT! We start things out with out friends trying to move through Anastis with absolutely no attempt at camouflage....which works out about as well as one might expect. This ends with Rhodes! Of all people! Coming to their rescue.


Also, Alustin is....not having second thoughts, exactly, but he's at least having a harder time with turning off his conscience it seems like. Not ENOUGH of a hard time, though, because he's still going through with it.

This is the one where things finally come to a head between Harry and...well, Harry and a lot of people, frankly. There's also another bully in the mix, though, and that's Ben. I truly hate that what he says gets to Charlie, because it's laughable that he's making SUCH a huge effort to let Charlie know he "doesn't care". If he didn't, we wouldn't be here, Ben! Ugh I hate him.

Anyway, I'm dying to watch the finale and have to wait absolute ages and you all definitely hate me.

These chapters are the ones in which it looks like Phyro maybe is going to war against Jia??? I'm not sure what to think is happening here, but that certainly seems to be the case. Meanwhile, we get to see the havoc that Jia's engineered berries wreak among the Lyucu, and I have trouble feeling as bad as I expected to feel about the whole thing.

These chapters of Tongue Eater are the ones where a battle between the Librarians Errant and Havath erupts unexpectedly when they're ambushed during a negotiation. I'm so torn here because I'm not really rooting for either side, but I also don't want either of them to lose...and of course, there's the looming threat of the Tongue Eater which continues to eat away (or should I say "lick" away, heh) at Alustin's mind.

This episode deals a lot in Nick starting to reach out a little bit in his understanding of his own sexuality, both in terms of online research and in terms of opening up to those around him who are queer. By the end of this episode he seems to have come to the conclusion that he's bisexual, although that may change at any time because it seems like he's really just feeling things out still. Meanwhile, he's telling some folks that he's in a relationship with Charlie, and I couldn't be happier about it.

Meanwhile, Théra's facing the fact that her plan has utterly fallen apart and decides to flee to a place that nobody would agree to live in if they were still part of the old traditions...which means she's very likely going to see her children again soon.
