On this episode the gang discuss cool rock band Ghost, who it's safe to say with their general aesthetic and officially licensed sex toys, fit the bill as at least 'horror-adjacent'. Aside from being very excited about the imminent release of the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake, there's also time to get incredibly frustrated at IO and have a meaty 15-minuter on the Jovovich RE movies.
Washing all that nonsense away is this week's focus - Se7en. AKA Seven. Street name? 7. David Fincher's fantastically oppressive dark thriller was a rewatch for all of us, cementing itself as not just some cool teenage edgelord movie of our past but a shining beacon of excellent characters and gritty themes. Just, don't think too hard about who is scarier... John Doe or *gulp*... Kevin Spacey. Oooh I'm all a-shiver.

There are some other discussions including The Stick Of Truth, Fallout 76 and a history of online griefing, Chris's "games as board games" philosophy and endless grind games too, but let's be honest - it's really all about the sweet, moving and totally not sexual connection between horse and man.
Somehow we also found time to discuss The Cat Lady, a very interesting vision made by mostly one person and focussing around some genuinely good ideas and art, that are lost within some other shoddy, less realised ideas. Thankfully we quickly get back on topic with such horror classics as talking about Pokémon, Speedruns and E3. After thoroughly talking smack on the XBox One, we dip into the warm golden blankets of the past - fossils from the dawn of the YouTube era that you can still check out today, as well as several minutes of poor House Of The Dead 2 impersonations, and a fun breakdown of Resident Evil's voice acting to boot.
This week's focus is of course Halloween - the original and perhaps some would say best? From the plucky pumpkin that opens the show to the arguably bullshit escape at the end, no stone is left unturned. After bowing in reverential awe at the dramatic monologues Dr. Loomis chooses solely to communicate in, we follow Mikey 'The Shape' Myers from one homicidal misunderstanding to the next, as he communicates with his hands around peoples' throats. The guys have improved Skyrim by becoming the best Blacksmith in all of Tamriel - and consider what makes good melee combat in both Elder Scrolls and games like Condemned. Jump scares in first person survival horror games also get discussed, including Matt's harrowing tales of Alien Isolation and Doom 3. Finally, we touch on Bioshock Infinite's infamous quiet scare - you know the one. We still get chilly thinking about it.
This week's focus is of course Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce, a B Movie with an A budget - gloriously batshit. From the doomed space mission's discovery of a space artichoke filled with a set of really nice crystals, to the final sex battle of St. Paul's Cathedral... sorry... we just never thought we'd write a sentence that bizarre. Doctors with swords, who kill in the old way. Patrick Stewart's first on-screen kiss. Violent bloody vomiting scenes. TITTLES! This movie has got it all, and we can't help but revel in it all. Still, there's time to touch on Yakuza 6 and have a giggle with pronunciations. We'd try to explain Caine, but we're IN LOVE ON A LEVEL YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND.

Aside from that there's the once newsworthy recap of #ChangeTheChannel, a sojourn through Fahrenheit and into Killer Instinct, who has a very topical character for this week. Tom has tales from the Murica Heartland where he's been liberating everyone, even if they didn't want it, GTA III's Chatterbox gets a thorough referencing, and Doki Doki Literature Club is explained very carefully to us by an erudite Chris.
This week's focus is of course our cultural exchange between the US and Japanese versions of The Grudge - both are heavily infested with Grudges and you're gonna have to get a guy out to fix it. We discuss what we liked about both - to be honest, there isn't a lot we disliked - and this then leads onto creepy Asian Horror topics like Siren: Blood Curse, P.T. and Silent Hill Downpour. A worthwhile talk around music in horror and how it is misused leads into some closing talk of obscure PS2 titles Lifeline, Echo Night Beyond and Hungry Ghosts. What's that? You'll have to come closer, there's a Grudge in your throat.

This leads on to discussion of novelty reddits, which in turn leads on to discussion of Telltale's Walking Dead and whether it is misery porn - the upshot is Chris has gone Final Fantasy Crazy. So crazy in fact, that your #1 Horror Podcast has an eight minute section on other languages and tries to teach you German - vunderbar! If that isn't enough, there's also a section of said Horror Podcast dedicated to Paddington and Peter Rabbit, before getting into the finer details of marmite and why anyone who likes it is wrong.
This week's focus is of course What Remains Of Edith Finch - a critical indie darling that we... really didn't care for. And we tried! Well, Chris didn't try, he got a refund - and its that kind of ingenuity that Matt and Tom wish they'd employed. There are some good ideas in here, but they're all either confused or wasted - we discuss some of our favourite bits, a lot of our unfavourite bits, and whether there really was a curse on the family. Entering the second hour of discussion becomes so taxing that the Duke Nukem and Schwarzenegger impressions come out in an effort to make the cast stop. Good luck.

We did it guys; insert-arbitrary-number-here of episodes! After brief discussion of the weather and disease, our intrepid hosts mine the same evergreen wells as previous casts: FFX! Dr. Dekker! There are also some recommendations of The Witness and A Ghost Story, before the cast takes a sideways flying kick into the world of anime - Death Note, Naruto and Paranoia Agent all get a healthy natter-about. Also, the King of Segues makes a triumphant return... by accident.
This week's focus was of course Lucio Fulci's The Beyond - a dripping good time set in Swamptown, Louisiana. Following a rather inconvenient case of bricked-in-warlock-in-the-basement, the owner of a hotel that happens to be on a gateway to Hell gets some people in to renovate, who soon find their employment being... dissolved. Gruesome practical effects and the customary eye-gauging scene are deployed with aplomb here, so maybe don't sit in the front row. Plus, what an ending - nighmare fuel. Follow us, friend, on a boat trip to the bayou, and while you're at it, git outta mah state!
