Spookshow Spectacular

Not exactly scary but she still liked it. Here's the first one in our February '22 theme : FATAL LOVE. This one feels like a precursor to the new black voices in horror and I love it. Having people of color lead in horror is always a breath of fresh air in a sometimes stale white bread genre.... CANDYMAN (2021) is next!

I never realized ALIEN is just 2001 + Halloween. Lauren also sees everything as THE THING so that's interesting maybe? It seems we're in a horror slump still. Unappreciative and not scared. I guess I'll have to ramp it up with some bonus episodes once the CANDYMAN episodes release...

Even if no one considers it a "true" horror the concept and fact that this kind of thing is more realistic than most horrors is what makes it on our list. We both enjoyed this one very much.

Well she's already seen it... I still like this movie even though it's not too good but it's good enough! Just maybe won't be going to a Swiss spa type resort ever..

Here's one I feel hasn't gotten much recognition. It's a good surrealist Christmas horror. It definitely needs a few watches but in a good way. Lauren was scared a little but she really had more issues with our main character, Wilson...

Well it was Christmas enough for her! I didn't think she'd be scared, I just think it's a fun recent holiday horror. The next installment of XMAS '21 will be POOKA!

This one got her. It's so funny how the simple ones do. Basically a random person in your house is all it takes. Funny how people's brains work so differently. Sorry we had some cat issues on the recording. They're all being difficult lately.

Our CHRISTMAS 2021 Series has begun! Lauren wasn't scared but that's alright. I didn't expect her to be. I just really wanted to show her a great anti Christmas movie. Christmas horror is always interesting how it effects people when they're so used to happy endings to holiday movies. Thanks to SHOUT FACTORY for putting out the collector's edition of this movie and making it look so good! The original BLACK CHRISTMAS is next!

Well Lauren wasn't scared exactly but liked it. This one is definitely worth a watch or 2 to get the full scope of it. December starts our Christmas theme! After this every other month will have a new theme for our movies/episodes. Get ready!
