Spooky Dudes Podcast

Eric's back! This week, we reviewed the 2019 haunted house slasher flick "Haunt." This one comes to us courtesy of the writers from "A Quiet Place" and producer "Eli Roth." It honestly doesn't feel like either of those films though. The plot is basically several friends getting together at Halloween and trying to find a haunted house. As you can imagine, things unravel from there and the real spooky stuff starts to occur. The film is streaming exclusively on Shudder!

This week, we reviewed the 2019 gators vs. humans flick "Crawl." This film has a lot of action sequences and even a bit of the red stuff. It comes to us from director Alex Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes remake). It's a genuinely fun flick and comes in at a brisk 87 minutes (gotta love that)! The film is available to rent or buy on Amazon right now - Check it out and see if you agree with our opinions!

This week was a bit different. Eric was out sick so our good friends Richard Ewell (Nerdy Laser, PWR Spot Show and Assignment Horror) and Jeff Lown (The Dead-end Grindhouse Podcast) joined in to help Cory out. We reviewed the 2019 indie horror slasher/suspense film "Deviant Behavior." The film was shot on a shoestring budget, but packs some awesome suspenseful moments and demonstrates some serious film-making and acting chops. The film is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime right now.

This week was Cory's pick. He chose the 2019 independent Halloween horror anthology "10/31 Part 2." This is a follow up to one of our favorite holiday horror flicks from 2017 (10/31). We had some mixed emotions about this one, but we break down what we liked and some of the stuff we found to be less effective. You can buy or rent a digital copy on Amazon.

This week was Eric's pick. He chose the 2019 reimagined slasher "Child's Play." This film is more of a reimagining of the original and not so much a remake. That's super refreshing. It stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry and Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky! If you're a fan of the series and worried about them damaging the originals...don't fret. This week was Cory's pick. He chose the 2019 Spooky Season slasher "Candy Corn." We love independent cinema around here and especially indie horror! This film stars Pancho Moler, Courtney Gaines, Tony Todd and PJ Soles.

We had an extra special guest co-host, Jeff Lown from the Dead End Grindhouse Podcast. Check them out - https://www.facebook.com/deadendgrindhousepodcast/

This week was Eric's pick. He chose the 1988 post-apocalyptic sci-fi action flick "Hell Comes to Frogtown." This is another amazing transfer of a wacky flick from our friends at Vinegar Syndrome. It's not a horror movie, but it is pure cheesy sci-fi action. If you're into the USA Up All Night stuff...check this out. It's also Rowdy Roddy Piper's first film. This week was Cory's pick. He chose the 2019 horror anthology flick "Nightmare Cinema." As with all horror anthologies, this is a bit of a mixed bag. We covered all our favorite parts and some of the parts that could use some serious work. Our buddy Jake from the Slashers Podcast also joined us. This week was Eric's pick - the 2019 robotic furries gone murderous flick "The Banana Splits Movie." It's like Showbiz Pizza meets Five Nights at Freddy's. We had a great time discussing this one and hope you enjoy listening!
