The World Match Racing Tour makes its historic debut in Saudi Arabia this November, featuring both the 2026 World Match Racing Tour Finals and the Women's World Match Racing Tour Final at AMAALA Yacht Club. This groundbreaking event promises to reshape the landscape of international sailing in the region.
AMAALA Yacht Club, located on the Red Sea coast, offers pristine waters and favorable trade winds, setting the stage for thrilling competition. This double-header not only highlights elite match racing but also aims to boost local participation in the sport.
For the first time, the Women's World Match Racing Tour Final will run back-to-back with the Open World Match Racing Tour Final, each boasting a $200,000 prize purse. The women’s event will feature the largest prize ever offered for an all-female sailing competition.
Scheduled from November 2nd to 14th, the finals will crown the 2026 Match Racing World Champions, with World Sailing overseeing the event.
James Pleasance, Executive Director of the World Match Racing Tour, emphasizes the significance of equal prize money across both tours, while Adrian Peet, General Manager of AMAALA Yacht Club, underscores the club's commitment to elevating sailing in the region. This event marks a pivotal moment for yachting in Saudi Arabia.
