The Sports Spectrum Podcast launched on March 31, 2017. Since then, we've had over 1400 interviews and 5 million downloads/listens. Our desire is to keep Jesus in the sports discussion and have conversations with athletes, coaches and others on the intersection of sports and faith in Christ.
On November 5, 2024, we welcomed former Chicago Bears pro bowl running back Matt Forte as a co-host and pro athlete voice of the podcast.

Preston Spradlin is the head men's basketball coach with James Madison University. Prior to arriving at JMU in March of 2024, Spradlin spent the previous nine seasons at Morehead State where he led his team to two NCAA Tournament berths, including this past season of 2023-24.

Jaelene Daniels is a former pro soccer player, who spent seven seasons in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) with the Western New York Flash and the North Carolina Courage. She was a member of two NWSL championship teams during her time with the Courage.
Playing the defender position, Hinkle starred in high school at Valor Christian in Highlands Ranch, Colo., where she was a Parade High School All-American and named first-team all-state.
She is currently the Development Director with Impact City FC, a soccer ministry in North Carolina.

Chuck Swirsky is the radio play by play voice of the Chicago Bulls. He started his career in broadcasting in Cleveland, Ohio in the mid-1970’s and moved to Chicago in 1979. He spent many years working in Chicago radio at WGN. In the mid-1990’s Swirsky was the host of our Sports Spectrum syndicated radio program, where he interviewed athletes and others in sports about their Christian faith.
In 1998, Swirsky moved to Toronto and became the play by play voice of the Raptors, a position he held for 10 years. In 2008, he returned to Chicago and became the voice of the Bulls radio broadcasts. In 2016, Swirsky was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame and in 2018 to the WGN Radio Walk of Fame.
Today on the podcast, Chuck Swirsky shares stories of his time working with Sports Spectrum in the 1990’s. He also talks about his time as a broadcaster in Chicago during the Michael Jordan era, the future of broadcasting and the importance of communication, connection and relationship.

Nick Mingione became the head baseball coach at the University of Kentucky in June 2016. Prior to his time with the Wildcats, he was an assistant coach at Mississippi State from 2009-16.
In 2017, Mingione’s first season in Lexington, he led the program to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time ever, and was named SEC and National Coach of the Year. In 2024, he led the Wildcats to a historic season, achieving their first ever berth at the NCAA College World Series.
On this episode of the podcast, Coach Mingione reflects on the historical season of Kentucky baseball and how surrendering to God and relying on His strength transformed his coaching approach. He also shares what it was like watching his son Reeves accept Jesus and get baptized.

Pat Fraher is an NBA referee who has officiated 1300 regular season and 87 playoff games including the 2020 NBA Finals, 2021 NBA Finals and the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals.
Today on the show, Pat Fraher returns to share his experience of officiating an NBA Finals. He also discusses his testimony of coming to faith later in life and the transformation he experienced.

Cody Davis is a former NFL defensive back who played 11 seasons with Rams, Jaguars and Patriots. He was signed by the Rams in 2013 after going undrafted following a college career at Texas Tech where he was a second-team All-Big 12 in 2011 and 2012.
Davis played five seasons with the Rams, two with the Jaguars and his final four seasons with the Patriots. On December 24, 2023, Davis scored his first career touchdown on a fumble recovery in a win over the Broncos.
Today on the podcast, Cody Davis discusses the decision to retire from the NFL after 11 seasons, scoring his first NFL touchdown in his final year, giving his life to Jesus and finding his firm foundation in Christ as a pro football player.

Lauren Sisler is a sideline reporter for ESPN covering college football. She joined ESPN in 2016 after being named Best Sports Anchor by the Alabama Associated Press in 2014 and 2015. The former Rutgers gymnast also covers SEC football for AL.com in Alabama.

Jaccob Slavin is an All-Star defenseman with the Carolina Hurricanes. He was originally selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Draft. After a collegiate career at Colorado College, Slavin began his pro journey and made his NHL debut on Nov. 20, 2015.
In 2017, Slavin signed a seven-year contract extension with the Hurricanes, and in 2020 he was named to his first All-Star team. One year later, he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy presented each year to the “player to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.” In 2024, he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for a second time and in July 2024, he signed a new eight-year contract to remain with Carolina until 2033.
