Today, Matt and Leslee talk to Chris and Lauren Pronger. Chris played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League with Hartford, St. Louis, Edmonton, Anaheim and Philadelphia from 1993-2011. In 2000, he won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable Player and was a member of 6 NHL All-Star teams. In 2007, he led Anaheim to a Stanley Cup Championship and in 2015, he was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Blues announced they will retire Pronger's No. 44 during the 2020-21 season.

Chris and his wife Lauren join us to talk about hockey, marriage, family and life after the NHL.

Episode 33

Nick Graham played high school basketball with Matt and is regarded as one of the top basketball player development specialists in the country. He grew up around college basketball and credited his dad, Paul's tenure as an assistant coach at Oklahoma State for developing him as a basketball teacher. Nick would go on to play college basketball at Washington State. 

Since 2008 Nick has worked with his own company, Nick Graham Player Development, contributing to the development of thousands of players worldwide most notably, Jimmer Fredette, Trae Young, a handful of other NBA players and hundreds of Division 1 college players.

Today Matt and Leslee talk to Sean Casey. Known as "The Mayor" Sean played 12 MLB seasons with the Reds, Indians, Pirates, Tigers and Red Sox. He was a 3-time All-Star and in 2012, was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Sean is now a baseball analyst with MLB Network and one of the best story-tellers around.

Today Matt and Leslee talk to Gio and Suzy Llerena from Christian Family Life. They have been serving the Lord faithfully their entire married life. In the early years, Gio and Suzy worked with the youth and helped start a Hispanic church. Gio and Suzy then pivoted into the world of baseball as Gio went on staff with a ministry called Baseball Chapel for 14 years where he served as the chaplain for the Tampa Bay Rays; oversaw International Ministries in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Venezuela; and recruited and trained MLB chaplains. During this time, Gio and Suzy invested in the lives of players and their wives with a focus on discipleship. We love these guys and we know you will too.

Chris Carpenter is a former teammate of Matt's with the St. Louis Cardinals. His MLB career spanned 15 seasons after he was a first round selection by the Blue Jays back in 1993. He was the 2005 National League Cy Young Award winner and was a member of two World Series championship teams in St. Louis in 2006 and 2011. 

We loved talking to Chris about his baseball journey, mental toughness, overcoming adversity, and coming to faith in Jesus Christ.

Ryan Spilborghs is a former teammate of Matt's with the Colorado Rockies. His MLB career spanned 7 seasons from 2005-2011. After a few more years of pro ball including a year in Japan, Ryan retired after the 2013 season and is now a broadcaster for MLB Network and the Colorado Rockies television broadcasts. 

We enjoyed talking to Ryan about his baseball journey, family life, going back to school and his 2020 World Series prediction.
