Klein, born and raised in the Pacific Palisades in California, was an athletic standout at Corpus Christie Elementary School, then St. Monica High School. After High school, Klein attended the University of Southern California, where he was the starting tight end for the Trojans' 1967 national championship team. Following his senior season, he was drafted 21st overall in the 1969 NFL draft by his hometown Los Angeles Rams where he played from 1969-1976. Klein finished his pro career at the San Diego Chargers from 1977–1979.

When Klein is not busy with his incredible family legacy, he serves as the President and CEO of the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation and oversees the management of all philanthropic development efforts.

He has been a Rams fan since childhood, when he attended games with his father. Lagana has spent 20 years announcing sports, including Davis Cup tennis tournaments and beach volleyball competitions. “My greatest satisfaction,” he says, “is seeing a family in the stands enjoying the game.” During the week, Lagana is associate vice chancellor at Pepperdine University.

Dave and Bernice Epperson created the Volleyball Festival in 1984 when their two daughters started playing volleyball in junior high school. Only eight years after the enactment of Title IX, there were still very few resources available to support female sports in most schools. They took it upon themselves to create an experience for their daughters and many other young female volleyball players, and now the small event in 1984 has grown into one of the largest competitions in the country today.

Michael Boehle is the Head Boys Volleyball Coach at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He also is the Director of Business Operations and Financial Aid at Loyola High School. Prior to Loyola, Mike played in the AVP 1988-1994. 

But his call to fame was winning the legendary Venice Backyard Championship twice, earning the title - The GOAT of the VBC.
