KENORA DEVIL’S GAP ISLANDERS SUSPEND PLAY

Ongoing Conflicts with the Executive Board of Governors

The Kenora Devil’s Gap Islanders regret to announce that we have been forced to suspend play until the situation is resolved due to ongoing conflicts with the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s (SIJHL) Executive Board of Governors. While this decision was not made lightly, it has become necessary to address these challenges and ensure the team’s future by working through league issues and actively continuing the process of finding a suitable buyer for the team.

The Islanders want to reassure players, parents, fans, volunteers, and sponsors that this is only a temporary pause. The organization remains committed to facilitating a smooth transition to new ownership, ensuring the team’s continued presence and contribution to the Kenora community.

“This is a difficult and disappointing situation for everyone involved. However, by addressing the league conflicts and finding the right buyer, we are confident the Islanders will return to the ice with renewed energy and determination.”
