In this episode, we wrap up season 2 of the podcast. We talk Olympic gymnastics, Simone Biles and mental health awareness. PJ somehow manages to involve My Cousin Vinny while talking about the Red Sox. And the guys discuss the latest Celtics and Bruins developments. Thank you for listening and we will see you all in September for season 3 of Sports Theory!
In this episode we preview Olympic women's gymnastics with special guest Coach Allie, head coach of the Cranston High School West gymnastics team and former All-American gymnast from RIC. Plus PJ and EMac talk about the Red Sox, the Celtics and the ONLY time it is ever appropriate to throw anything on to the field in a sports venue.
Fun Fact- Coach Allie becomes the second college All-American ever to appear on the podcast, joining PC alum Ernie DiGregorio!
PJ and EMac talk about the NBA and NHL playoffs, and finally make a decision about when season 2 will conclude!
Safely back in the studio for this week's episode, we discuss the Celtics' new head coach, the NBA playoffs, and Dustin Pedroia's tribute ceremony. PJ shares a theory about the Stanley Cup finals matchup between Tampa Bay and Montreal, and another great Boston sports argument.
In this episode, kind of a mini-episode, the Sports Theory guys take the show on the road for the first time as they head to Goddard Park to play 9 holes of golf on a picture perfect early summer day in RI. This is kind of a test run for future on the road episodes and segments, but overall the quality is much better than expected.
In between fantastic golf shots the guys find time to talk about the latest goings on with the Celtics, the latest developments in MLB's attempt to crack down on pitchers using sticky stuff, and some talk about golf and philosophy. Shout out to Gene and Jeff who were paired up with us at the course and were patient while we recorded!
We cover an awful lot of information in this episode, including the latest scandal to plague MLB, the Celtics' coaching search, NBA playoffs, and a great conspiracy theory surrounding Cam Newton's hand injury. Plus E-Mac explains the "Bubble Effect" and the guys break down another great Boston sports argument.
Join PJ and EMac as they discuss the state of the Celtics and Bruins as they make their respective playoff runs. We also take a look ahead at the Patriots 2021 schedule. (Spoiler alert- week 4 is going to be a pretty big game). Plus we try out a new segment, and talk about the future "Alpha Dogs" of the 4 New England pro sports teams.
In this episode PJ and EMac welcome Ryan aka the "San Diego Padre Guy", who is a Sports Theory legend for accurately predicting the current success of the Padres over 2 years ago! We were thrilled to have Ryan on with us to discuss all things San Diego, including the Padres-Dodgers rivalry, the Chargers leaving town, and much more. As always, thanks for listening to the podcast!
In this episode, Episode 55 (which coincidentally is recorded on 5/5- how cool is that?), the Sports Theory guys discuss the Patriots new QB Mac Jones, plus updates on the Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics.
In this episode we take a walk down memory lane with a bunch of great "On This Day" events. PJ thinks someone might win baseball's Triple Crown this year (HINT- he's a National Leaguer). Plus we talk more about potential rule changes in baseball, particularly the Double Hook. As always thanks for listening!
