Hour Three of "Sports Talk" begins with Mike & a caller discussing some of the Saints options in the upcoming NFL Draft next week. Former Rummel Raiders & Nicholls Colonels quarterback Chase Fourcade also joins Mike to talk about his new CFL contract, and Scott & Mike wrap up the show talking about the intriguing 1st Round NBA Playoff matchups.

Now that the NBA Playoffs are in full swing, there will be at least 3 games a night for the next couple of weeks.  Scott & Mike take a quick look at the games on the Playoff Schedule tonight....and another big one tomorrow!

Young legendary quarterback Chase Fourcade join Mike & Scott to discuss his new Canadian Football League contract with the Calgary Stampeders.

Chase is a local legend in New Orleans after winning multiple State Championships with the Rummel Raiders & then completely turning around a then-moribund Nicholls State football team. Chase went on to become a 3-time Conference Player of the Year while winning two Southland Championships for the Colonels. A true leader in every since of the word, Fourcade also set several passing records in both high school & college.

The Saints re-signed a key player today & Mike Detillier makes sure the Who Dat Nation knows his importance to the Black & Gold's success next season.  The Cleveland Browns also re-signed a player to the biggest contract in NFL history for his position. Despite those revelations, this second hour of "Sports Talk" focuses heaviest on two topics: LSU Baseball & Football with Tigers beat writer Ron Higgins, and Pelicans playoff hoops with Hoops guru Scott Spinelli.

Former Boston College basketball head coach Scott Spinelli has become a weekly hoops guest on "Sports Talk' since the beginning of the NCAA Tournament. Spinelli brings a unique "X & O's" perspective as a former Division 1 college basketball coach, and today was certainly no different.  Despite the loss, Scott takes a lot of positive things for the Pelicans to build on for the rest of the 1st round series.

Ron Higgins, who has covered LSU Tigers sports for over 3 decades, is one of the all-time Bayou Bengal media insiders.  And today, Ron joins Mike to discuss why the LSU baseball team has been inconsistent throughout the season.  The Tigers have a great hitting team, but their defense continues to let them down. Higgins & Detillier then shift the discussion to LSU football and Ron's observations from Spring Practice. The conversation is positive and mostly revolves around new head coach Brian Kelly's "my way or the highway" approach to leading his team.

Hour One of "Sports Talk" focuses heavily on the Pelicans' NBA Playoff Game last night vs the top-seeded Phoenix Suns.  Former New Orleans Hornet star Chris Paul showed his former team why, at the age of 37 next month, he still has plenty of gas in his tank.  Mike & Scott review Game One & then preview the rest of the series. Pelican Scoop beat writer David Grubb also joins the mix for a great segment.  In addition, Mike fields a Saints draft question from Big Cheezy. Great hour of sports radio!

David Grubb, a news & sports reporter at the Louisiana Radio Network & host of "Hard in the Paint" Podcast / Pelicans writer for Sports Illustrated, joins Mike & Scott this afternoon to discuss the playoff process the Pels went through last night vs the veteran top-seeded Phoenix Suns.  David always brings great knowledge & information to the table. Although the Pelicans got punched in the mouth in the first half, they regrouped, fought hard, and made a game of it. Game 2 is tomorrow night in Phoenix.

Hour One of "Sports Talk" kicks off with Mike & Scott discussing Game 1 of the New Orleans Pelicans-Phoenix Suns playoff game last night.  The Suns punched the Pelicans in the mouth in the first half & took a 23-point lead. The Pelicans showed a lot of pride & cut the margin down to only 6 before former Hornet Chris Paul took over the game & showed why experience COUNTS in the National Basketball Association!

In a very abbreviated version of "Sports Talk" this afternoon, Kristian & Bobby discuss the New Orleans Pelicans 2nd NBA Play-In Tournament game on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, who learned today that they will be without superstar Paul George, who entered Covid protocol this afternoon.  K-Dawg & the Cannon then went into a discussion about LSU Baseball's continuing struggles on defense, which once again let the Tigers last night against the 5th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks in a heartbreaking 5-4 loss.

And in the most poignant moment of this half-hour, Bobby discusses the history involved in this 75th anniversary of the great Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers. (The reason for the shortened show today is because the LSU baseball game was moved up an hour this evening to hopefully avoid oncoming rainstorms!
