Senior safety for the Texas Longhorns, Michael Taaffe, joined Chris Gordy to look back on his award-winning season in Austin.
Taaffe won the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, and was named captain of the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The Wuerffel Trophy is college football’s premier award honoring players who excel in community service, academics and athletics.
Taaffe is an advocate for "Texas Against Fentanyl" in memory of his late friend Jake Ehlinger, helping advance life-saving education across the state. He also raised more than $100,000 for the Texas Flood Relief Foundation to honor lives lost at Camp Mystic.
Taaffe has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, finishing off his five seasons in Austin. He finishes his Longhorn career with over 200 tackles, three sacks and seven interceptions.
