Spotlight on the arts

For our November 5 episode we are joined by Dr. Rob Glaubitz for his weekly conversation detailing the concerts and recitals coming to UCO. Next we’re joined by Dr. Julia Montag from the Wanda L. Bass School of Music where she details the upcoming concerts and recitals coming to OCU. Then we’re joined by Kaleb Benda and Hamed Erfani with the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony to learn about their concert celebrating Route 66 happening this Saturday. We then speak with Puffer Jones with the Tactus Chamber Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble to learn about the world-premiere of his original work celebrating Route 66 also taking place Saturday. After we speak with Sherry Klechka and Sara Whitehead to learn about the 3 new exhibitions coming to the Paseo Art and Creativity Center as well as Friday Friday. Finally we speak with Dr. Mark Belcik and Phyllis Smith with the Oklahoma City Symphonic Band to learn about their next concert taking place Tuesday.

For our October 29 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music for his weekly visit discussing all the upcoming concerts and recitals happening at UCO. Next we sit down with Associate Dean of Theatre at OCU, W. Jerome Stevenson. He fills in for Dr. Julia Montag informing us of the upcoming concerts and productions taking place at OCU. Then we sit down with Rev. Laurie Purcell with St. Luke's Community Orchestra to learn about their concert titled "At The Movies," taking place this Sunday. Finally we sit down with Dr. Clif Evans with the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra to learn about their season-opening concert taking place Sunday, Nov. 8 at 4pm at the OCCC VPAC.

For our October 22 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music for his weekly visit. We then talk with him about two events rounding out the month of October with Painted Sky Opera. Dr. Jake Johnson fills in for Dr. Julia Montag for their weekly visit informing us of the upcoming concerts and recitals coming to OCU. We're then joined by Dr. David Anderson with Chamber Music in Oklahoma. He joins us to talk about their program featuring Demarre McGill and the Balourdet Quartet. Finally we speak with Tyler Woods from Oklahoma Shakespeare to learn about their table reading series production of Frankenstein taking place this weekend at the Indoor Blackbox Theatre.

For our October 15 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music for his weekly spot informing us of the upcoming concerts and productions. He then joins us to talk about two events with Painted Sky Opera: A Decade of Divas taking place Oct 23-25 and the Sunset Soiree taking place Oct. 30. We're then joined by Dr. Julia Montag with the Wanda L. Bass School of Music and Theatre at OCU for her weekly spot highlighting the upcoming concerts and programs. Next we sit down with Dylan Madoux with the Oklahoma Baroque Orchestra to learn about their next concert titled 'Conversazioni' taking place Saturday, October 17 at 7:30pm at Westminster Presbyterian. Finally we sit down with Dr. Julie Yu with Canterbury Voices to learn about two events taking place: The Music of Stravinsky, Poulenc, and Vaughan Williams taking place Friday October 16 at 7:30pm at the Civic Center Music Hall, and The Big Sing Community Performance taking place Saturday, October 17 at 5pm also at the Civic Center Music Hall.

For our October 8 episode we sit down the new Director of Bands at UCO, Darby Cassaday, to learn about his background and the works they’ll be presenting at the Wind Symphony Concert tonight. Next we sit down with Dr. Julia Montag for her weekly visit. She’s joined by Assistant Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at OCU, Karen Miller, to discuss their production of Amelie running October 9 thru 11. Next we sit down with Amanda Bleakley with the Paseo Arts Association to learn about the artists being featured at this years FEAST. Finally we sit down with Lucas Ross with the American Banjo Museum to learn about Banjo Fest running today through October 10th.

Next we sit down with Dr. Julia Montag for her weekly visit. This week she's joined by Dr. Matthew Mailman to discuss Pirates! The Penzance Musical. Finally we're joined by Sherry Klechka and Atticxys Metals to learn about this month's First Friday Gallery Walk.

For our September 24 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music. He joins the program for his weekly segment detailing the upcoming concerts and recitals to UCO. Then we sit down with Dr. Julia Montag with the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at OCU. She joins the program for her weekly spot detailing the upcoming concerts and productions heading to OCU.

For our September 17 episode I’m joined by Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music for his weekly visit detailing the upcoming concerts and recitals taking place at UCO. Next we sit down with Dr. Julia Montag with Wanda L. Bass School of Music at OCU for her weekly visit detailing the upcoming concerts and recitals taking place at OCU. Then we’re joined by Warren “Puffer” Jones with the Kemp Concert Series to learn about their season opening program, 4x4 Organ Concert, taking place this Sunday. Finally we sit down with Jenny Brand, Vivi COlson, and Kristin Kuns with the Theatre Crude Fringe Festival to learn a little about this year’s festival, running now through Sept. 26th. As we like to say, lets put a Spotlight on the arts here in Oklahoma

For our September 10 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubtiz with Painted Sky Opera. He joins us to discuss their production titled The Pirate Project! Taking place this Saturday with two performances. Next we’re joined by Dr. Julia Montag from Oklahoma City University. She’s joined by her fellow OCU Deans, Drs. Jake Johnson and W. Jerome Stevenson to learn about OCU’s connection to Lyric Theatre’s production of Come From Away. We’re then joined by W. Jerome Stevenson and Jonathan Beck Reed, two cast members with Lyric Theatre’s production of Come From Away. Finally we sit down with Tyler Woods, Executive Artistic Director with Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park. He joins the program to talk about OSP’s production of Julius Caesar which runs tonight through September 27th.

For our September 3 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz for two segments. In the first he joins us for his weekly visit detailing all the concerts and recitals upcoming at UCO. In his second segment he joins us to discuss Painted Sky Opera's production of The Pirate Project. Next we're joined by Dr. Julia Montag from the Wanda L. Then we sit down with Dylan Madoux with the Oklahoma Baroque Orchestra to learn about their season-opening performance taking place this weekend. After that we are joined by Dr. Julie Yu with Canterbury Voices to learn about their 2026-27 with special events like The Big Sing. Finally we're joined by Sherry Klechka with the Paseo Arts Association to discuss the First Friday Gallery Walk for September as well as the 3 new exhibitions coming to the PAAC.
