Illinois Family Action's Chairman of the Board Rich Hartian joins the show to discuss last week's midterm election with David Smith and Monte Larrick.

Nationally, they discuss why it was so vital for the GOP to keep the U. S. Senate, the Kavanaugh effect, what republicans could have done better, and why certain republican U. S. Representatives won or lost their re-election bids.

They also converse on the Illinois election results: including the statewide turnout, conservative republican losses, the uphill battle facing principled conservatives in the Illinois General Assembly, and they touch on potential anti-family proposals coming from Springfield in the coming session.

In a recent appearance on The Journal Editorial Report, Republican economist Arthur Laffer (of “Laffer Curve” fame) unintentionally revealed the rot at the core of the GOP. In an astonishing statement, he waxed exultant at the prospects of Democrat Jared Polis winning the gubernatorial race in Colorado. Laffer is thrilled because Polis has the right economic plan. For those who don't know, Polis is openly homosexual, "married" to a man, and supports every lousy pro-homosexual legislation that a sexual anarchist can conceive. He pushed for the Student Non-Discrimination Act, the “Hate Crimes” Prevention Act, the repeal of DOMA, and the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. He's also pro-abortion. None of that matters, however, when money is your god.

A former staffer for Pinocchio Rauner wasted no time telling conservatives to abandon all hope. In a commentary appearing in Friday's Chicago Tribune, Patrick Wohl tried to scare the Illinois GOP away from ANY rightward movement. Scaremonger Wohl ominously warned, "The Illinois GOP needs unity, not a race to the right." That's code language for "Abandon the social issues, you idiot rightwing lunatics!"

How about this for a revision: "The Illinois GOP needs unity on the entire GOP platform, not abandonment of the parts of it ignorant RINOs and Libertarians don't like."

In this week's Spotlight is a veteran, a former adjunct Professor of Corporate Finance, sought after conference speaker, as well as conservative political commentator. Kathy Barnette served her country proudly for 10 years in the Armed Forces Reserves, where she was accepted into Officer Candidacy School.  Her corporate career includes working with two major Wall Street firms and in corporate America.  Kathy sat on the Board of a pregnancy crisis center for 5 years.

Mrs. Barnette joins Monte Larrick and David Smith to discuss homeschooling; the Blexit movement, a mass exodus of black people from the Democrat party; the Left's new talking point that conservative white men are the enemy of the people; illegal immigration and abolishing ICE. They also discuss eugenics in America.

This edition of Spotlight features highlights from a prayer meeting at the Illinois state capital. Pastors from around the state gathered to pray for the church statewide, repentance, a nation-wide revival, federal officials, local officials, and our national culture.

Recently, IFI’s own David Smith joined Christian conservative talk radio host, Stephanie Trussell, for her weekly show on WLS -AM 890. With the upcoming midterm election, they certainly had much to cover! Their conversation explores the inexplicable betrayal of incumbent State Representative Tom Morrison by the “Conservative” Party gubernatorial candidate, Sam McCann, and the ongoing attacks McCann is waging on other solidly conservative, Republican candidates. Stephanie and David also address the midterm elections and the importance of an informed electorate who vote in accordance with their values and faith. VOTER GUIDE

In response to the uproar generated by his utterly deceitful union-subsidized mailers, gubernatorial candidate Sam McCann tweeted that "all" he did was say that State Representative Tom Morrison "supports Rauner." Unbelievable. McCann lied again. He did not merely say Morrison "supports Rauner." He accused Morrison of being a "Republican in Name Only" (RINO) and did so in mailers in Morrison's district in the midst of a difficult re-election campaign.

Then No-Shot McCann posted this on his “McCann for Gov” Facebook page...
