  • episode 3: sex, gender, and J.K. Rowling ft. Shehzad Bajowala

Spread the Word is the new podcast brought to you by BELLAs with the goal of sharing different perspectives on gender and gender-related issues.

In our third episode, we spoke with Shehzad Bajowala, a member of the class of 2022 at IMSA. We discuss topics surrounding sex, gender, and J.K. Rowling's controversial tweets, specifically, her tweet saying: "If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth."
