Cs: Byl mrazivý zimní den.
En: It was a freezing winter day.

Cs: Sníh pokrýval střechy budov a chlad pronikal do kanceláře velké finanční firmy.
En: Snow covered the rooftops of the buildings and the cold pierced into the office of a large financial firm.

Cs: Všude byla cítit nervozita.
En: There was a sense of nervousness everywhere.

Cs: Rok byl pro zaměstnance obtížný, plný stresu a hodiny strávené v pestrých tabulkách na počítačích jim ubraly energii.
En: The year had been difficult for the employees, full of stress, and hours spent on colorful computer spreadsheets had drained their energy.

Cs: Na stěnách kanceláře visely bílé zářivky a chudý umělý vánoční stromek smutně skrýval svůj konec roku v rohu kuchyňky.
En: On the office walls hung white fluorescent lights, and a poor artificial Christmas tree sadly hid its end-of-year presence in the corner of the kitchenette.

Cs: Mezi těmito šedými stěnami byl Bohumil, juniorní zaměstnanec s obličejem anděla a chutí špatně plánovat.
En: Amidst these gray walls was Bohumil, a junior employee with an angelic face and a knack for poor planning.

Cs: Přesto měl ústa plná duhových slibů.
En: Yet his mouth was full of colorful promises.

Cs: Měsíc před Vánoci se rozhodl: „Musíme mít Secret Santa!
En: A month before Christmas, he decided: "We have to have Secret Santa!"

Cs: “ Chtěl rozsvítit kancelář zevnitř — a hlavně okouzlit Adélu, kolegyni, která mu od jejich prvního setkání zrychlila tep srdce.
En: He wanted to brighten up the office from within—and mainly to impress Adéla, a colleague who had made his heart race since their first meeting.

Cs: Letos se žádný Secret Santa konat neměl kvůli rozpočtovým škrtům.
En: This year, no Secret Santa was supposed to happen due to budget cuts.

Cs: Ale Bohumil měl plán.
En: But Bohumil had a plan.

Cs: Rozhodl se, že předstírá, že byl pověřen vedením.
En: He decided to pretend he was tasked with leading it.

Cs: Ukryl svou touhu pod maskou veselého nadšení a začal připravovat seznamy.
En: He hid his desire behind a mask of cheerful enthusiasm and started preparing the lists.

Cs: Když se jeho kolegové začali ptát: „Kdo tě na to pověřil?
En: When his colleagues began asking, "Who put you in charge of this?"

Cs: “ Bohumil se vyhýbavě usmál a odvětil: „To je tajemství, to by nebylo žádné překvapení!
En: Bohumil evasively smiled and replied, "That's a secret, there wouldn't be any surprise!"

Cs: “ Aby zabránil podezření, zapojil Vladimíra, kolegu známého tím, že často zapomínal číst pracovní e-maily.
En: To avoid suspicion, he involved Vladimír, a colleague known for often forgetting to read work emails.

Cs: „Pomůžeš mi?
En: "Will you help me?"

Cs: “ zeptal se Bohumil.
En: asked Bohumil.

Cs: „Jasně, proč ne,“ odpověděl Vladimir bez dlouhých otázek.
En: "Sure, why not," Vladimír replied without much questioning.

Cs: Blížil se den Vánočního večírku.
En: The day of the Christmas party was approaching.

Cs: Bohumil si poctivě myslel, že plán funguje.
En: Bohumil sincerely thought his plan was working.

Cs: V kuchyňce s umělým stromkem bylo však neklidno.
En: However, there was unease in the kitchenette with the artificial tree.

Cs: Adéla přistoupila k Bohumilovi s mírným úsměvem.
En: Adéla approached Bohumil with a gentle smile.

Cs: „Bohumile,“ začala potichu, „nemohla jsem najít žádný oficiální seznam.
En: "Bohumil," she began quietly, "I couldn't find any official list.

Cs: Jak je to možné?
En: How is that possible?"

Cs: “Bohumil zrudl.
En: Bohumil blushed.

Cs: Přiznal: „Adélko, byl to můj nápad.
En: He admitted, "Adélko, it was my idea.

Cs: Myslel jsem, že nás to rozveselí.
En: I thought it would cheer us up."

Cs: “Adéla se na chvíli zamyslela a pak řekla: „To je od tebe milé.
En: Adéla thought for a moment and then said, "That’s sweet of you.

Cs: Potřebovali jsme nějakou radost.
En: We needed some joy.

Cs: Nevadí, že to nebylo oficiální.

En: He understood that a simple gesture and the truth have their power.

Cs: Díky Bohumilovi a jeho kreativnímu chaosu se do kanceláře vrátila okouzlující atmosféra Vánoc.
En: Thanks to Bohumil and his creative chaos, the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas returned to the office.

Cs: A i přes umělý stromek a chladné bílé světlo začal celý prostor zářit novým teplem.
En: And despite the artificial tree and cold white lights, the entire space began to glow with a new warmth.
