Wisconsin law requires absentee ballots to arrive at the polls before they close on Election Day in order to be counted. But the state elections commission made the wrong decision, a Dane County judge ruled Thursday, when it ordered the city of Madison to remove 23 late-arriving ballots from the spring election’s final tally.
Scott Thompson is staff counsel at Law Forward, a Madison-based firm that sued the elections commission on behalf of two impacted voters. He joined our News Producer Faye Parks to explain how they won the case.
