Just a quick check in from the road — it's that time of year in Denmark when the rapeseed fields turn bright yellow and the whole landscape lights up. It only lasts a few weeks before they go grey and brown, so you have to appreciate it while it's here.

Rapeseed is a fascinating plant — grows up to two meters tall, between two and six centimeters a day, and the roots go another meter down.

Used for cooking oil, biodiesel and animal feed. Also related to cabbage, and yes, it does smell a bit.

A nice reminder to enjoy what's right in front of you while it lasts — which felt very fitting for a pipe smoke on the road.
