Time Warp

Spring Log Drives plus Canada's Whiskey War

Listen Later

This week, Kate talks about the trials of lumber men 'driving' the trees harvested over the winter to their destinations via the thawing lakes and rivers. Focus is on Eldridge Bull who was a 13 year old working the drive around 1911 and was interviewed about his experiences in the 1970's. Plus, Paul talks about Hans Island that sits on the border between Canada and Greenland and how it's caused a 'war' between Canada and Denmark that has some light-hearted aspects.
