When we think of prophets, we likely think of the Old Testament. But prophets played an important role in the New Testament as well. In this lesson, David Brown considers the role and work of prophets in the early years of the church!

Paul had to leave Thessalonica earlier than he wanted, but he longed to return to visit the Christians there. At the end of chapter 2 and through chapter 3, Paul explains his desire, and also lets the Thessalonian Christians know just how encouraged he was when he heard about their continued faith.

After describing some things his ministry was and was not, Paul paints a picture of his ministry and then moves to another important topic--praise and encouragement concerning the Thessalonians response to persecution.
