In Judges 6–8, Gideon goes from hiding in fear to leading a miraculous victory over the Midianites, but not because he was strong, confident, or capable. In fact, he was the opposite. When God called him, Gideon saw himself as the least in the weakest clan. Yet God responded, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.” 

The story shows how God gradually increased Gideon's faith, highlighting His strength rather than Gideon's abilities. In the end, Gideon's victory highlights a foundational truth: when we move in faith and obedience, God handles the outcome. We don’t need to be strong when the One who fights for us is.

• We often try to fix symptoms. God wants to fix the root cause.
• God has an uncanny knack of picking the most likely candidates.

Love is the most powerful force on Earth, yet it's often misunderstood because we view it in selfish ways. It's easy to love when it's convenient, but Jesus calls us to a higher standard—love that serves others, even when it's difficult. That kind of love we’re called to live isn’t possible on our own; we need the help of the Holy Spirit to love like Jesus. Yet that cost leads to transformation, not just for the one loved, but for the one loving.

During Holy Week, Jesus didn’t just speak about love; He lived this kind of love. From washing the feet of His disciples to willingly going to the cross, Jesus showed that real love always comes with a cost.

If you’ve been holding on to past pain or disappointment, maybe it’s time to release that and cling to the Source of love Himself.

After the fall of Jericho, Achan defied God's command by secretly concealing forbidden treasure. His private sin led to public loss and the death of others.
