Birthday Suit Christians, Gen. 3:6-24, Pt. II
The word says “WHOEVER.” Imagine the promise we have in Christ. He says, “whoever comes to me I will never cast out (John 6:37).” It’s not about the nature of our sin, but about the nature of his mercy. You might say, we don’t engage with God based on our character, but based on his. So, whoever is willing to repent from sin, and turn to him, he will never cast out. His mercy endures forever!
It is a beautiful thing to not only be loved by God, but to be known by him. We get stuck under the deception that we can only hope to be loved by God, but that we need to constantly sew together “fig leaves” to cover ourselves. It’s like somehow our nakedness (our sin) is too much for him. Yes, God judges sin and puts to death the deeds of the flesh. However, if we will bring our naked selves to him, we will find that he has wonderful eternal gifts prepared for us in our new lives; including a clothing of righteousness. (Bonus: Zech. 3:1-5).
