Life is a highway, and we ain’t got the wheels to keep pace,
seems those good old days have left without a trace, everyone’s lost the memory
of community, sacrificed offerings proclaiming their demigod’s impunity and I’m
just left standing there with a stunned look on my face
We all saw the same thing in the same place under the same
sun, heard the rhetoric and saw the angry mobs run, disagree and you will be
voted off the committee, you shake your head and mutter isn’t it a pity, the
truth is not a consequence cause the smell of money has spun
Look at all those poor children lying dead in their schools,
the lesson here kids is the country’s run by fools, stepping over their bodies
to accept another donation, turning a blind eye and coming up with an
explanation, the ones tasked with making things better are nothing but tools
Stand up and be heard this isn’t the time to cut and run, time
for learning how to love the things you shun, red or blue or left or right we
are sailing on the same boat, education and getting each other to vote, it’s
the way to right the mess that has been spun
Spun from tales told on the campaign stump, how the savior
of the world was Donald Trump
Spun from lies and repeated until they were believed, despite
fines and jail time for those who deceived
Spun for the benefit of that sick bastard and his cronies,
all they proved was they were nothing but phonies
Spun and praised by people who got dizzy for dollars, despite
warnings about global warming from the scholars
Spun and woven into MAGA hats for all of you, tell me man,
is this really your red, white, and blue?
