"The decisions aren't hard; only the work is." A quote from Jay White during a written interview done for the Fale Dojo. Jay White has made headlines here in America during his time off from New Japan Pro Wrestling. He appeared - unannounced - at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary and some of the Internet Wrestling Community peeps didn't understand or know who Jay White is. The rest of the world knows exactly who Jay White is. Jay White is an accomplished young wrestler, carving out an amazing legacy in NJPW and America. He is the number one asset in all of pro wrestling and the real belt collector. He's sold out Madison Square Garden. He's a Grand Slam Champion having won: IWGP United States, Intercontinental, and Heavyweight Championship and currently holds the IWGP NEVER Openweight Championship. I discuss his early days as a young lion in NJPW, his excursion, his return as Switchblade Jay White, and give a deeper assessment of how vital Switchblade is to his overall persona. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed researching it. As always, share, tell a friend, leave a tip, and I'll see you in the next one!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows. I had the pleasure of being on the call with AEW EVP Cody Rhodes during this media briefing. Cody answered many questions ahead of Double or Nothing 2021 ranging from his "focus group" promo workshop, facing Anthony Ogogo, AEW Rampage, AEW Dark, AEW Dark Elevation, if himself, The Young Bucks, and Kenny have heat, and more! AEW Double or Nothing is THIS SUNDAY MAY 30TH!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! I discuss Shingo vs Ospreay for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship while giving insightful commentary on why Ospreay had a smart strategy, why Shingo decides to sacrifice his body in hopes of winning, and both guys giving it their all. It was an amazing 45 min match from start to finish, and Ospreay completely, without doubt, elevated the standard of IWGP World Heavyweight Championship matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your unapologetic host, Marie Shadows. AEW still has a long way to go to be the damn amazing show it once was BEFORE the Pandemic. I don't want a perfect product. I want to see logical storylines, no more sloppy match cards with filler content and forced stories. I want my intelligence to not be insulted. And I need The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega - The Elite - to actually Change the World like they promised when leaving NJPW for making their own greener pastures. AEW has fueled more toxicity into the Wrestling Community a little more than before and I discuss why that's bad. I don't like "ranting" about AEW or it's characters but something needs to be said and done. Let's focus on building a true alternative & not a kids shit show to pass off as "wrestling" as "alternative" as "storytelling" as "good heel heat." I also discuss Nagata vs Moxley; Cody promo; The Pinnacle & Inner Circle; Brit Baker; Thunder Rosa; Miro vs Darby; and explain that I'll always talk about pro wrestling to help improve it because I love it.
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! So, over on twitter, wrestling fans complained about the 40 mins for a main event that featured the NEVER Openweight Title between Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Jay White. The story went over everyone's head. It was a psychological match between the two. Jay White loves to mess with his opponents, and I detail the breakdown of the match and why it was a great 40 mins! Thanks for listening!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! On this episode, I discuss the history of Iron Fingers and why it's important in New Japan Pro Wrestling and why Taichi has it. I breakdown the wonderful ladder match that Tama and Tachi had. It's a beautiful ode to 33 years of violence ushered in by Takashi Iizuka and more! Tachi and Tama changed the ladder match perception. Thanks for listening!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! I discuss the 4th match from Night 1 of Wrestling Dontaku 2021. Zack Sabre Jr faces Tanga Loa with an added stipulation! If ZSJ can defeat Loa in this singles match, then ZSJ and Taichi are awarded a Tag Team Title shot against G.O.D. Does it happen? I also praise ZSJ and Loa for their incredible in-ring work.
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! I discuss the wonderful LIJ vs United Empire match for night 1 of Wrestling Dontaku 2021! I examine all the stories between these men, and even give some advice about Will Ospreay's anger that we saw in the opening minutes of the match. This excellent warm up match before the main event of Night 2 is a great start to night 1!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! I talk about the Young Lions: Gabriel Kidd, Yuya, and Tsuji, and how all of them have stepped up during all the tours and shows! I need these young lions to be in a triple threat match! I discuss United Empire and wonder what happens if Shingo can hit The Last Dragon finisher on Ospreay and win that IWGP Heavyweight Championship, what happens to Ospreay's mind after building so long to obtain such a prestigious title in pro wrestling? I talk about a lot more on this episode!
Welcome to The Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows!
I discuss the relationship between AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, and NJPW in this episode! I dive into why Hangman Adam Page losing to Brian Cage doesn't work to help build Hangman's star power. I also give examples of how wrestlers changed their character due to certain circumstances. Jay White and Henare would always be my go-to standardize example explanations because their stories help bring a bigger picture to help fans of Hangman see that he needs to evolve. I discuss that IMPACT should be angry now that Kenny Omega has both of their belts but IMPACT Wrestling went on as usual. I also explain that the top story in AEW, the characters that are acting out the story have yet to get closure from all the wrongs they've done and received from people, and at the current rate of being petty, it's lazy storytelling. I love great, deep storytelling like a good novel, that's all I ask from AEW & IMPACT Wrestling! I appreciate all the listens and feedback!
