SRM S04E08: The Mountain and The Viper

This episode of SRM covers Season 4 Episode 8 of Game of Thrones entitled “The Mountain and the Viper”. Other things happened in this episode other than the fight, but damn. That last scene was a mind eraser. I have quickly gone through all the emotions I can. Emotions that I typically reserve for use on human beings and other live creatures. Not fictional characters in a fictional world. Maybe it’s just the gruesome nature of the act, but I feel more with this than I think I did with the Red Wedding. I mean- he had it! It was his! All he had to do was just reach out and take it. At this point I’m gonna make my stone-cold lock of the century of the week, which I wish I’d done on the podcast. So so if you haven’t seen the episode stop reading, because I’m ’bout to get specific. The Mountain will get his… at some point. And if I had to guess that “point” is what already got him. I’m surprised we didn’t mention it specifically on the podcast that I remember, but I think it can be assumed based on a quick re-ewatch of that scene that the spear tip was poisoned. And his name is the Viper. A poisonous snake. So… if the Mountain dies also as a result of his wounds… what then happens to Tyrion? Maybe the same thing, but in any case I’d predict the Mountain to be dead by the end of this season.
