The heart-trip soundtrack of Martin England’s music is that of all great American troubadours; Americana, folk, roots rock, and occasional old school country. The White Cane Conspiracy. Due out January 4, 2011, The White Cane Conspiracy is a thematic play on his lack of obviously blind traits. He doesn’t use a white cane. He doesn’t walk into walls, as a rule. He doesn’t even rattle a coffee cup for change while riding on subways. Really, he’s quite delinquent as a blind cliché, and thus the smirk and the slice of this album’s themes were born. Working again with Michael Seifert, the pals grounded JP’s sound more firmly in the acoustic side of indie rock and affirmed the greater maturity of the songwriting. With a richness of subtlety and elegance in the production, Corwyn’s soaring; clarion voice has been given ample room to shine through. The first piece of the Conspiracy unfolds in the November 2010 release of the lead single “Find a Reason.” Prepare to have your eyes opened. Pun.

The combination of these 4 musicians and their constant growth and development from project to project leads many to believe there is a long and bright future ahead for Sound of Surrender. Looking to gain more exposure they managed to get radio play on San Diego’s hit rock station 105.3 as well as 94.9 and 91x. In 2006 they were featured in Synthesis Magazine as one of the top 16 Unsigned Bands.
Since Sound of Surrender played the Warped Tour Ernie Ball stage in 2006 the bands popularity has taken on a life of it’s own. They followed that up with an appearance again in 2008 and have generated a buzz large enough to get recognized by both independent and major labels. In 2010 they inked a deal with Legendary Media Group/Bungalo/Universal.

After putting out their EP, The Long Road Home in 2008 Sound of Surrender is ready to drop their first single with Legendary Media Group. It is slated for the summer of 2010 and they will be following up with an album later on this year.

Tim Halperin has been immersed in the music scene since he began taking piano lessons at age six. Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, he wrote and played music with several bands in high school, and all the while played piano and sang at church on the worship team. When Tim entered college at Texas Christian University, he found inspiration to write new songs and decided to stop playing with bands and enter the singer/songwriter scene. The authentic, emotion-packed music Tim wrote struck a chord with fellow students and the surrounding community of Fort Worth and Dallas. This support led Halperin to play more shows and record his debut CD.
