  • Advent 2 - Preparing for New Creation - Fr. Michael Flowers - 12-08-13
Our salvation comes from something small, tender, and vulnerable, something hardly noticeable. God, who is the Creator of the Universe, comes to us in smallness, weakness, and hiddenness. In Isaiah 11, God's New Creation is filled with paradoxical images of wolves and lambs, leopards and goats, cows and bears, cobras and children, living in peace to illustrate the great reversal of the present, fallen order. In the language of Eden and echoes of Noah's Ark, the restoration of the cosmos is described as perfectly harmonious and at rest among formerly opposing creatures. The fulness of righteous, peace and joy is consummated.

  • Advent 1 - The Big Idea behind the Liturgical Cycle - Fr. Michael Flowers - 12-01-13
Happy New Year for those who celebrate the Western Liturgical Calendar. We are invited to live inside the story of heaven touching earth whereby in celebrating the Eucharist within all the Feasts and Fasts, we sanctify time. The Kingdom of God is among us. In Christ's incarnation, life, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension, we have been gathered up into the life of the eternal, Holy Trinity.
