Have you ever tried to keep a good thing going? Have you ever tried to sustain or maintain change over a long period? In Nehemiah the people of Jerusalem put aside differences and united to accomplish a great feat, the rebuilding of the city wall, but what will happen when the work is done? How can the positive changes that began with the building of the wall continue and take root in their community? In Nehemiah 8 we discover what the leaders in Jerusalem did to sustain the renewal taking place in their community. From their story we’ll discover what needs to happen in our story to experience the continuous personal renewal Jesus is offering us.

Have you ever been so distracted that you can’t get anything done? Sometimes the distractions in life can be so overwhelming that they hold us back from doing things and ultimately keep us from living as God envisions. How do you overcome the distractions in your life? In Nehemiah 6 we discover a way to respond to distractions and build a life in keeping with God’s vision.

Have you lost your passion or holy discontent? Over time our passions and holy discontents can fade, lose focus, or get off track and become misaligned with God’s plan. When this happens, we need an alignment. When your holy discontent is not aligned with God’s greater plan, you need the courage to reflect, confront and adjust your actions, attitudes, and behaviours to bring your life back in alignment with God’s vision for the world. 

When we begin to lean into the Holy Discontent that God stirs in our hearts seeking to address things that are not right, we sometimes face opposition. Courage is often required to continue moving forward. Join us as we continue our series, Building Blocks for Life, and look at where true courage comes from and how we can walk in courage as we seek to partner with God meaningfully in the places where we live, learn, work and play.

It's often said in sports, "There is no I in team." A successful team is a collection of individuals willing to come together and put aside personal goals for the sake of the bigger picture. Join us as we continue our Building Blocks For Life Series, and learn about how Nehemiah called people to a goal bigger than themselves and see that we are truly better together.

As we continue our series, Building Blocks for Life, join us as we look at how Nehemiah responded to the Holy Discontent that God had placed in his heart. Nehemiah’s vibrant prayer life, combined with an “if you want to use me you can” heart posture before God led to powerful change and meaningful transformation! God’s presence, provision and empowerment expressed through Nehemiah’s faithful and bold obedience had a significant impact. How may God want to work in and through us? A vibrant prayer life and a heart posture of “if you want to use me you can” still results in meaningful change and transformation today!

Entering a new year is often a time for resolutions - some stick, and others don’t even make it the first week. At the core of these resolutions is the sense that things are not as they should be, and it doesn’t take very long to look at our world and see that things aren’t as they should be. What if God is inviting us to be good news and participate in His work to make all things new? What if this sense of discontentment is an invitation to join Him in the work He's doing? Join us for church as we kick off our new series, Building Blocks for Life, and see how Holy discontentment can lead us to the life we were created for.

Food brings us together; it has a way of inviting people into relationships, and for many of us, we have great memories attached to the table. But what if Jesus saw the table differently? What if, when Jesus talked about the table, or eating and drinking, it wasn’t just a metaphor for His Kingdom? What if His primary method of bringing others into the kingdom was through the table? Jesus is inviting us all to His table. The question is, who are you making room for? Join us for church as Pastor Dan speaks on this.

These experiences shape how we approach promises made to us - they impact the trust we place in them and the hope we hold onto as we long to see promises fulfilled. Join us for church as we look at how different people respond to promises and how that can offer hope for those of us holding on to promises today.
