Advent 2: The Prophets. The urgent message of all the Prophets is that we must repent of our sins because the Lord is coming. They teach us that true repentance involves mourning over our sins, looking to the Lord's forgiveness, devoting our whole life to the Living God, and perseverance in obeying his commandments.

Jesus said: ‘I am among you as one who serves’. Jesus disabuses the disciples of the notion that serving in his kingdom is a matter of status. There is work to be done and lots of positions to be filled, and each of us has our part to play.
