Paul encourages us to give generously: if we sow generously, we will reap generously. Giving is a ministry, is voluntary, and should be planned, generous and hilarious. We reap by having our needs met, our characters refined, and God is thanked.

Paul encourages the Corinthians to follow through on their willingness to give to those. The act of giving is an act of grace empowered and modeled in Jesus. So faithful giving benefits not only those in need, but also those who give as they come to embody the grace revealed in Jesus. Paul urges believers to give according to their means so as to ensure they are not impoverished but instead work towards an equality that restores the needy so that they may be able to give.
