Jehovah Shammah: The Lord is present. In Ezekiel's vision, there is a new temple in a new city in which the Lord is always present. God has come in the person of Jesus - Emmanuel, God with us, always.

The importance of the Word of God for us as we continually progress to live lives that will reflect our loyalty to Him, motivated by what He has done for us in Jesus Christ.

The Word also provides us with the help we need to live in that manner, if we approach the throne of Grace, and receive mercy and grace for our time of need.

Miracles happen when God breaks in and does the impossible, supernaturally breaking the laws of science and nature. When God uses Elijah to bring a dead boy back to life, we learn from his example that COMPASSION should be the motivation behind every miracle, COURAGE should be in the prayer for every miracle, and CONVICTION of faith in God should be in the testimony of every miracle.

Andrew discusses how these passages help us to think about who and what we are, and how we relate to God and to each other.

God's project is 'putting the world to rights'. He calls us, as his people, to work with him in that project, as a team, a collective. The qualification for being involved is to live 'by faith', committing to his project and being obedient to his calling, even though that will identify us a 'strangers and aliens' in our culture.

Faith is tested as Elijah is called to GO to the darkest of places and SPEAK God’s words, and as the widow ACTS in faith. As we go, speak and act we see God’s wonderful provision. How is he providing for us and for Cutteslowe? On this harvest Sunday, Dan presents on how and why we might want to re-assess our giving to Cutteslowe in the light of the God who wonderfully provides for His people.
