God’s final judgment is described in two of Jesus most memorable parables – the talents and the sheep and the goats. Donald focuses on the criterion of judgment: commitment to Christ and his kingdom, as shown in service with the resources, time and capacities with which we are endowed, and in particular in our service to the disadvantaged. Judgment will focus as much on our commitment to Christ and the good we have done, as on our sins.

The Holy Spirit is mentioned three times in Luke 2 vv 21 to 40 : Resting, Revealing and Guiding. Simeon and Anna are models from whom we can learn about Christian discernment.

What is the central work of the church? To say and show that Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
