Continuity between the disciples of the Gospels and the church as it developed in Acts was provided by those Jesus chose to be the foundations of his new people of God. Peter in particular was chosen to be a leader, and gifted with a revelation of who Jesus was, a rock like commitment to him, and Godly judgement. The church in every generation needs leaders like Peter: so we should pray for our leaders, and ask God to raise up new leaders.

How we speak to each other is vital for our health and joy as Christians - and our conversations as Christians can change people's lives today and hundreds of years from now!
