Texts: 1 John 4:7-21 & John 15:1-8
"We are an organ, we are a puzzle, we are the branches and Jesus is the vine.
When we lose sight of this truth we can’t put the puzzle together, we tend to the wrong part of our skin, and our branch withers.
We are all the branches on the same vine and we only thrive in this world when we remember this truth.
When we separate ourselves from the vine and the branches we lose our connection to God and one another, and we can’t survive, we wither and die.
But have no fear, as our first John passage reminded us this morning - there is no fear in love - this is not the end.
It’s Easter after all - we know death is not the end of any story that God is a apart of.
Grace abounds.
The vine is always being pruned, there are always new branches forming and new fruit on this vine that God tends.
There is always a place for you on the vine.
All we have to do is dare to see all the branches around us as part of us, connected to the same vine, this is when we bear fruit. "
