Recently, 291 patients were cared for in the ruins of a Christian village. Their village was not destroyed by floods but by government action in 2021 because it was declared to be illegally built.

In the absence of a priest, their catechist, Semesa, led the Liturgy of the Word and distributed Holy Communion on Sundays. Other catechists from nearby villages would also help out when needed. Catechists are very important in Fiji.
