It is vital that we have a personal experience of the truth. Of sin and salvation. -The Apostle had been converted 20 years when he wrote of his conflict with sin. -That I am- and -deliver me- will find an echo in every child of God's heart.--Blest soul that knows the answer and deliverance in Christ.--1- Wretched man described-2- The question asked - -Who shall deliver me--3- The deliverance through Christ--This sermon was preached at the Dicker Chapel, East Sussex, where Pastor Wheatley attended for the first 4 years of his life, before emigrating with his parents to Australia in 1965.

How careful we need to be in exhorting any to continue, that it be in a right way, and not in a sinful way---Paul exhorts Timothy to continue against the dark description of the last days.-In leading up to the text we have--- A description of the last days -v1 - 9--- The importance of personal witness and example -v10--- The persecution of the Godly -v11 - 12--- The increase of evil men -v13- --Paul then exhorts Timothy -But continue thou---We look at what he was to continue in--1- In what he had been taught-2- In the knowledge of the Holy scriptures-3- In the appointed use of the Holy scriptures

- Sin separates between God and man-- There is no lack of power with God-- As God is Holy and Just, sin must be dealt with before mercy can be shown -- Man has no deliverer outside of Christ--Satan was the enemy at the first and will be felt to be so by all of God's children. Paul includes himself when he gives thanks for the spiritual blessings the Ephesians had. A homely Friday morning devotional for Milward House Pilgrim Home, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.--The psalmist prayer to be upheld is one all of the Lord's people need to pray.-By way of introduction we see in these eight verses 5 reasons why the Psalmist felt the need to pray in this way.--We then consider--1- His prayer - -Hold thou me up-. There are 7 occasions to fall that are identified in these eight verses.-2- The safety of those held by the Lord - -I shall be safe--3- The proof and effect of the Lord's upholding - -respect unto thy statutes continually- -A deep admiration for the word of God.-

Our Lord always taught by parables. Matthew 13-34 In the parable of the good shepherd we have a powerful illustration of Christ as the good shepherd and his people as his sheep.--A flock would know if their shepherd was a good shepherd by the way he treated them. So the Lord's people can know they are his by how he shepherds them.--1- The good shepherd - eight things he is known by.-2- The life he gives for the sheep - given in five ways.

Seeing a person's face is important to gauge their feelings. Preaching by zoom and then to a congregation whose faces are partially covered with a mask, means that we cannot see their countenance.-The Psalmist, being cast down, wanted the help of God's countenance. He saw a direct link between the Lord's countenance towards him Psalm 42-5 and the health of his own countenance Psalm 42-11--1- A cast down and disquieted soul-2- What the help is that is hoped for - the light of God's countenance-3- The effect of this help

The world thinks the change wrought by God in a converted sinner strange 1 Peter 4-4 But the new believer finds the path of a Christian strange too. The path of trial was not expected. -Peter in his epistles seeks to do as the Lord bade him to do when he was restored from being in Satan's sive. -Strengthen thy brethren--Here he strengths those suffering as a Christian, and tells them what to do in this path of fiery trial. - Commit the keeping of their souls unto God. --1- Reasons why those that suffer according to the will of God must commit the keeping of their souls to God.-2- Those that suffer according to the will of God-3- The Instruction given them
