Fr. Mike introduces the theme of the week for Advent 2020, and asks us what we are willing to give up for Jesus. Just like the three kings gave gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, we can make Jesus the king of our lives before anything else, give Him our time in prayer and embrace our crosses in life.

What if Christianity wasn't true? What if Christianity is true? Fr. Richard discusses how different those worlds are. "The plan was and is to save everyone who seeks a Savior - everyone who recognized Christ as the universal king."

We have all received gifts, and we can share them by being good stewards. When we multiply these gifts and bear fruit in our life, we are investing the talents we have been given from God.

God opens different doors in our lives. We can choose our own path, so we can live a life that's a Christian life - it gives back more than it takes. Are we using our talents to build a cathedral in our lives?

We can keep our lamps lit by choosing to live our lives with love. Fr. Mike shares an example from his life and invites us to notice all the hidden beautiful ways that Jesus is all around us.

If we want to follow Jesus, it's time to get uncomfortable.  He will meet us where we are.  He will give us the strength, and our joy will be great.  But he will challenge us to live as HE wants us to live, and it will be uncomfortable.

Fr. Mike addresses misconceptions about Purgatory and explains how it prepares us to enter the gates of Heaven. Everything that happens to us at the moment of our death is centered on Christ.

We are invited to be inspired by Jesus, to imitate Him, just like the known and unknown saints in Heaven were. We imitate Jesus by living out the Beatitudes.

Fr. Mike breaks down what Halloween and All Saints Day mean to us as Christians. He reminds us that as children of the light, we have nothing to fear.

During these times of anxiety and fear, Fr. Richard reminds us that this is the time to rise above and respond to the call of God.
