11/10/19: Sometimes, we cause the storm. Sometimes, others start the storm. Sometimes, the storm just is. Paradoxically, sometimes the toughest part of a storm is the silence after the storm is finished. The battle is history. The issues are done.

What, now?

Today’s message is the second in a four-week series called, Storm Strong, where Pastor Greg Byman unpack principles of how God lovingly shepherds us through the storms of life.

November 3, 2019: Sometimes, we cause the storm. Sometimes, others start the storm, and we have to endure it, too. Sometimes, the storm just is. Over the next four weeks, Pastor Greg Byman takes St Joe through a series of message that unpack principles of how God lovingly shepherds us through the storms of life. Today, we begin with understanding how God used the flood in Genesis chapter 5 to demonstrate his justice and his mercy.

How hard is it to apologize? For a slave named Onesimus, it was not just hard, but gravely dangerous. Given Rome's brutal punishment for run-away slaves, could the newly-reborn Onesimus be reconciled to his Christ-proclaiming master? Paul believed so, and gave the world a precious gift in his letter to Philemon, one of the shortest books in the Bible but one of the most historically poignant documents explaining reconciliation and forgiveness in Christian theology.

In Mark chapter 4, Jesus shares a parable of spreading seeds in a field where some thrived while others did not, and for both the Christian and non-Christian, life can be viewed in a series of fields. Field #1, “Connection." Field #2, “Rescue." Field #3, “Equip." Field #4, “Launch.” What field are you in today?
