Ephesians 6:1-9

1. If you have children who are not grown up, do

you seek to “bring them up in the discipline and

instruction of the Lord” (v.2)? What more do you

need to do in relation to this?

2. Do you perform your day to day work, paid or

unpaid, “as to the Lord” (i.e. as part of your service of God, v.7)? Why or why not? Should you change the way in which you regard your work?

3. Do you allow the bible to challenge your way of

thinking even when what it is saying runs counter to the culture of the day? How can you ensure that you are following God’s will rather than “the crowd”?

1) How can we better bring our children up in the

training and instruction of the Lord without

exasperating them as parents and as a church

family?

2) How can we better model ‘submit to one

another out of reverence for Christ, love God, love

your neighbour’ in our relationships for our children and each other?

3) How can we better honour our parents?

4) What can we learn from children? Matthew 18:2 (Jesus) said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’
