How little we know about Mary. We know that she was obedient and trusting, and that she showed humility.

The Church as an institution needs to do a lot of soul searching. We all need to follow Jesus' example - he humbled himself and was obedient, even to death. He stood up for what he knew was right.

Today is Christ the King Sunday. It is also Missions Sunday. We have a visiting preacher from Embrace the Middle East, Revd Su McClellan.

In the morning we had the Service of Remembrance with all the uniformed organisations. At 6pm we had a Peace Eucharist using a special liturgy. Hazel Berry, one of our Licensed Lay Ministers, did the sermon.

Colin Bass preaches this All Saints' Sunday on Isaiah 25.6-9 & John 11.32-44.

Colin reminds us that All Saints' Day honors not only the great saints but all believers united in Christ. We are invited as citizens with the Saints and members of the household of God, to the "feast of rich food, a feast of well matured wines" (Isaiah 25:6).
