What makes a good Christmas carol? Angels? Shining stars? Santa? This week we see how Mary sings the very first Christmas carol in Luke 1:39-56. A carol about how Jesus, this little baby, will save his people and restore the downtrodden and oppressed.

Mary is the first person to know just how special her baby, Jesus, will be.  This week we see from Luke 1:26-38 what Mary learns about God’s precious Gift through Gabriel.  God’s precious gift is King Jesus, the Son of God.  And King Jesus with the power of God acts as a Good King.  He’s gracious and merciful.  Because Jesus reign will never end neither will his grace and Mercy.  Come and take Jesus as your King.

When we know that a story has a happy ending, we can keep going even when things are hard. Wouldn’t it be nice if life was like that? This week we finish our journey through the big picture of the Bible story by seeing the guaranteed happy ending God has in store for his people in Revelation 21:1-22:5. An ending which means we can live in confident, faithful hope in Jesus no matter what we face because God will save his people and come to dwell with us forever in a perfect garden city in a new and glorious world.

True reconciliation is a rare and wonderful thing. As followers of Jesus, we get to be part of the grand story of reconciliation between God and his people. This week we continue our journey through the big picture of the Bible story to see from 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 how Jesus’ death gives us a new purpose, new life as part of his people and a new mission as ambassadors for Jesus.
